Tonight Nicholas and I went to see Elizabethtown for some time together. So I thought I would share with you what I thought about the movie (and some things Nicholas also thinks about the movie; need that male perspective - Mostly mine).

Hearts notes aboue the movie:

The movie has a lot of potential for couples. It is a funny, heart taking movie about a young man who loses life perspective after a dramatic fall in his artistic work. He is a shoe artist for a multi-billion dollar shoe manufactory. He took the success he was experiencing the 8 previous years to ignore the family who he had that would have stood beside him.

His whole world comes crashing down when his positive breakthrough shoe is recalled in the millions. As he is self-demoralizing himself and creating a way to committ suicide, his sister calls to let him know that their father has had a heart attack and has died while visiting family in Kentucky.

With his travel to Kentucky to pick up his father's body, he meets an airline stuardess and begins a journey of self realization and love. He slowly discovers the father he had (that he did not know) and the family that he had.

The stuardess and Son then take a journey of self learning while finding that falling inlove is the only thing that matters in this world (whether it be falling in love with family, memories, self, or a love one).

Anyways, to cut a long story short, he finds himself, who his father truely was and is, and his love for this stuardess.

My breakdown for the movie:

Plot: Star Star Star  / 5

I gave it a 3 only because I found it dull in some parts and lost the attention of the people within the crowd. It had shady moments where you were feeling left in the dark. However the story itself left you in suspense (emotionally), in laughter, and in sorrow.

Acting: Star Star Star Star  / 5

I gave it 4 because I think a movie of this magnitude was pulled off well. With having so little to work with within the movie, I think the acting gave it a more personal touch. The actors and actress' picked was sell thought out and they all fit the parts.

Soundtrack: Star Star Star Star Star  / 5

A lot of this movie was based on human emotion and memories. It is also based around a road trip never taken. It had music of all genres and I feel that the soundtrack from this movie is everything I would want in a CD (or 4). The soundtrack itself is worth the purchase even if you do not see the movie. There is alot of importance placed on music in this movie. Movie drives the soul. So there are a few things I want you to do.

1) I want you to watch the Music Preview from my local cineplex website.
http://www.cineplex.com/in_theatre.aspx?code=AAOXT&prov=AB You want to click on trailer and then view the Music Trailor ... If you love music .. you will appreciate what he has to say.
2) Take some time and look at the diverse and wonderful picked music as well. I think you will all find something you love to listen to, and maybe even pick up a new song to enjoy. http://www.elizabethtown.com/home.html <--- tab called Music will give you a list of songs in the movie, as well as a changable soundtrack player right on the site you can change while looking through the site.

----

If you wanna score some cute points with the ladies, or your wife, or your .... mother .. any female, then I suggest you take some time out and bring them to this movie. Its worth it for the women, and the soundtrack rules for the men!
