Is there only 3? The end of the 3rd kinda left it open for more. It could end there and I'd be happy. AWESOME movies they are and all.

Ultimatum is the last "official" book in the series (i.e. last Ludlum novel), but Eric Van Lustbader wrote two more novels for the series (Legacy and Betrayal). I'm not sure if there are any plans to turn these into movies though.

Dredging up an old post, but there are some rumors floating around of Matt Damon being open to do another one. Especially after the success of the newest Bond film (Casino Royale) and the upcoming Quantum of Solace, I'd expect it. Those movies were always mentioned to be "patterning" themselves from the Bourne movie franchise. I think that's why I like Casino Royale so much.

As long as the script is good and Matt Damon is Bourne, bring it on!

this has turned very clancyesc for me.

Ill be that guy, the books were so much better, much better plot line, much more insite into the history of jason bourne, and everything seemed to have a purpose not just some super spy running from his evil former employers. Also, also just like clancy, someone else starts writing novels under ludlums name. we have all watched a movie/read a book and found something we would add, but be creative on your own and I doubt the new novels hold a canble to the ludlum books.

i'd agree that the franchise is starting to be beaten into the ground, as of the game's release, but i thought the three movies were a pretty good trilogy - they just need to leave them be.  any additional movies will get taxing and old.  also, i tried to read the first book, but i couldn't stand ludlum's writing style.  i found it too dense and droning.  w/e.
