BEST MAYNARD IN YEARS, still a little tiny bit of Perfect circle in there, but I hear alot of old school TOOL, thank god. I loves me some perfect circle but I wants to hear TOOL when I play a TOOL album.

Well when you listen to songs from APC like 'Weak and Powerless' and 'Gravity' off Thirteenth Step, those songs have a lot of Tool-driven melodies. Mer de Noms was a lot different then Tool, but Thirteenth step was a lot like Tool.
I think 10,000 days will be as Tool as Tool has ever been. I don't even know if MJK is the only one from Tool in APC, but the thing that APC lacks is the phenominal drums and bass guitar that you hear in Tool.
If you sit there and really listen to Tool, you can hear just how complex, off beat and crazy the drums are. Usually the drums are what sets the rhythem. But in Tool the drums are just there to sound awesome a lot of the time, not really conforming to what the drummer's role in a band is suppose to be.
For instance, about 6:30 into the song 'Eulogy' off Ænima you can hear just how random the drummer can be. Or pretty much the entire song 'Ticks & Leeches' off Lateralus or 'Forty Six & 2' off Ænima is just mind blowing stuff.
They're a phenominal band that doesn't get nearly enough recognition for being as talent, both musically and vocally, as they should.

I can't consider any as a favorite. The ones that I listen to the most right now, however, are;
Jambi Wings for Marie (Part 1) 10,000 Days (Wings Part 2)
Jambi is just so damn heavy for Tool and energizing. I mean, it has a guitar solo with talk-box and wah. And it's a pretty good solo. I was blown away!
Wings and 10,000 Days are just classic slow, dark Tool. The deep rumbling bass sends chills down my spine.
