Just saw "Taken" with Liam Neeson. Anyone else seen it/going to see it? (It just came out in the US, but has been out for a while in other parts of the world.) I really enjoyed it. More than I expected. The style reminded me of an early Segal film (e.g. Out for Justice), except with real acting talent behind it. No complicated plot or message (other than don't f*ck with Liam Neeson's daughter), just lots of ass kicking and dead bad guys. ~Mike

Just a note for US audiences... The movie you see in theaters is NOT the full/original movie. Apparently, the US release has been toned down (violence-wise) to get a PG-13 rating (vs. R). Watching a preview on TV today, I noticed that a couple of the shots in the preview weren't in the movie. So, I looked it up on line. For example: It is still a great movie, but it sounds like the full release is much better (DVD will probably have the extra/different parts). ~Mike

Well I was going to go see it in the theatres, but now I will just wait for it on DVD, since it will have the part in it that i want to see (the torture scene).
I hate how they do that. It's not even a PG-13 movie, its a rated R movie. Keep it that way.

I thought it was good, not as good as bourne ID/Supremecy, but still good. The martial arts are fast, hard and believable, but Liam Neeson does his best by keeping the same accent all the way through the film. even when he is speaking in a foreign language. perhaps he wants to be Sean Connery, i dont know... I dont know if this will get changed for the American Audience, but listen out during the fight scenes... there are a fair amount of pops, rips and cracks as the fighting takes place.
Watch it, even though Liam Neeson wants to attempt to cross being Jack Bauer with Sean Connery. Oh and Holly Valence.... humnah humnah..... cant act... doesnt need to!

There's VERY little difference- maybe a couple of minutes, and it's pretty much only that scene and one other where he shoots a guy 5x instead of just once. Overall a very enjoyable revenge movie.

Good revenge movie, but has that "seen it already" feel to it. Way too similar to too many other movies. It's like a "softer" version of "Death Sentence", with some plots taken from the Steven Segal files (I know, bad comparison - Segal can't act whereas Liam can, but still... every Segal movie seems to be about family revenge, and Segal always plays an ex-military/Intelligence Operative).
Where's the originality in movies any more? I just saw The Uninvited. Anyone see that? Anyone know where the plot comes from? I've seen it before, but the movie had a different name. I'm sure you can look it up to find out, but has anyone seen the "original"?

Man, that move Death Sentence was one of those movies I walked out of the theatre and me and my friends didn't even speak for 15-20 mins.
